Dr. Allyn Taylor is an Affiliate Professor of Law at the University of Washington in Seattle and has previously taught on the faculty at Georgetown Law, the University of California Hastings College of the Law, the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, the Johns Hopkins Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies, and the University of Maryland Schools of Law and Medicine.
Professor Taylor has twenty-five years experience as a practitioner, teacher and scholar in global health law, policy and organization and she has been an adviser to numerous intergovernmental organizations, nongovernmental organizations and states. Professor Taylor has been senior health policy and legal adviser at the World Health Organization in Geneva and she was the senior legal counsel for the negotiation and adoption of the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control. She was also the senior legal counsel for the negotiation and adoption of 2010 WHO Global Code of Practice on the International Recruitment of Health Personnel..
Dr. Taylor holds a B.A. and a JD from the University of California at Berkeley and a masters and a doctorate in international law from Columbia University School of Law where she was Ford Foundation Fellow in Public International Law.
